Attorney Michael B. Holmes
After earning his bachelor's degree in microbiology, Mike graduated
in the top 15% of his class from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana
State University. He was a member of the
Louisiana Law Review, a reputable legal journal, during his time in law school. Mike has served
the Kinder area since 1996, practicing in various areas of the legal field.
He continues to represent and counsel dozens of local businesses, health
care providers, municipalities and land owners in the Southwest Louisiana
area. Mike has served on the House of Delegates of the Louisiana State
Bar Association since 1996 and is an active member in the Kinder Chamber
of Commerce as well as many other local and legal organizations.
Attorney Kevin Fontenot
Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwestern State University in 2003
with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in History.
Kevin attended law school at Louisiana State University where he was awarded
CALI awards for highest grade in his class in Contracts and Legal Research
and Writing, and he was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in 2006.
For the first fifteen years of his practice, Kevin worked as a litigation
and trial attorney in Lake Charles law firms. Through his litigation practice,
Kevin gained experience assisting every type of client from individuals
to small businesses to large industrial companies with resolving legal
disputes both in and out of the courtroom.
In 2019, Kevin joined Hebert, Holmes & Bertrand where, in addition
to his continued litigation practice, he assists clients with estate planning,
successions, and real estate transactions. Kevin believes that his personal
background, growing up in a farming family in rural Evangeline Parish,
allows him to bring a commonsense approach to the practice of law, providing
his clients with friendly yet passionate representation in every case.
Attorney Mary Hebert Holmes
After earning her bachelor's degree in English Literature from Louisiana
State University, Mary graduated in the top third of her class from the
Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University. She was a Tullis
Moot Court semi-finalist and earned a reputation as a skilled lawyer.
With over 25 years of experience, Mary practices primarily "in house"
for one of the firm's larger clients but continues to serve Hebert,
Holmes & Bertrand and our title division, First Louisiana Title, in
a managerial and supervisory role.
Attorney Douglas L. Hebert, Jr.
Doug "Bub" Hebert is the founding member of Hebert, Holmes &
Bertrand. After a highly distinguished legal career as a practitioner
and serving multiple terms as Allen Parish District Attorney, Doug is
effectively retired from practice but may be available for limited matters,
by appointment only.
