After graduating from Louisiana State University, Attorney Douglas L. Hebert,
Jr. earned his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana
State University in 1969. During his time in law school, Attorney Hebert
won the Tullis Moot Court Competition, a competition to determine the
following year's Moot Court Board. With more than 40 years' experience,
Attorney Hebert has earned a reputation as a smart, capable lawyer. As
the senior member of the firm, he leads the team in their pursuit of excellence
in all legal matters.
Attorney Hebert began handling
probate, estate planning,
real estate, negligence and other aspects of the law for clients in Kinder, Louisiana
in the 1970s. He has more than four decades of experience creating comprehensive
estate plans that involve wills and trusts for clients. Elected in 1990,
he served for 18 years as Louisiana's criminal prosecutor for the
33rd Judicial District. He was a member of the Louisiana District Attorney's
Association and he served as its president. He is admitted to practice
in the state courts and United States District Courts in Louisiana, the
United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the Coushatta Tribal
Court. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Allen
Parish Bar Association, and the Coushatta Tribal Association. In addition
to his law practice, he enjoys carpentry and tending to his livestock.
He is married and has five children, including his daughter,
Attorney Mary Hebert Holmes.
